Centers Through Polarities

Description

A weekly series of videorecorded lectures, in which Alok elaborates on major themes that will bring alive any knowledge you may already have about the Rave Body Graph.

The Human Design System reveals a mechanical absolute about the human condition. This absolute can be decoded in many different ways, but what they all have in common is that they are all dualistic in nature. Defined/Undefined, Conscious/Unconscious, Self/Not-Self, everything in this mechanical absolute expresses itself as a binary.

The centers themselves seem to operate within that dualistic framework, in the sense that there either is pressure in the Head center or not, that the Sacral Center is either available or not, and that the Throat Center is either expressing itself or not. Even when the centers are defined, there is always the ‘or not’ in the eternal flow of changes.

Now, one could think that the ‘or not’ is a matter of choice, but it isn’t, in the sense that the pressure in the Head Center doesn’t come out of the blue, but there is actually something that triggers it, and the Sacral availability is not random, but there is something that triggers it, and the Throats expression is not casual, but there is something that triggers it, and nothing triggers the nature of any center as deeply as the gates that are a polarity in the wheel to the gates that are part of any specific center, whose mechanical  nature we want to deconstruct in order to analyze it.

We are used to look at centers through the functions that we know them to fulfil within the structure of the Rave Body Graph, but looking at centers from this perspective takes the centers beyond the Body Graph and places them into the more holistic perspective that the Rave Mandala offers. From there, we not only can look at the functions of each center from an evolutionary perspective, but we can see exactly what the precise triggers are upon which their evolution is unavoidably dependent.

Moreover, when we look at the way centers are interconnected with each other through each of the six major circuits in the Rave Body Graph, it all looks very nice and pretty, but that’s not how we find things to be in real life. In the ‘Rave Body Graph’ you see the perfection of the structure in each singular circuit, but each circuit seems to be something complete within itself, with no need to interact with any of the other circuits, which is not how we get to experience them in real time.

So, how does it all interact and merge together into one single psychological experience that is similar and different for each of us? The answer is through gate polarities. If you look carefully into the places within the Rave Body Graph in which each of the 32 polarities is located, it becomes easy to see that each polarity is designed to act as a bridge between two opposing functions in the Body Graph that are also the best complement for each other when they are properly integrated in the awareness of the individual being.

So, every polarity is a potential bridge – a place of union or separation – between two different centers, between two opposing functions of the very same center, between two circuits that are part of the same circuit group, or between two circuits that belong to different circuit groups. From this perspective, each of the 32 polarities reveals something incredibly magical about the nature of being human, because the tension between any of the 32 polarities is never different from the tension that exists between the day and the night. It is a dynamic tension that is always there, and you don’t want it to go away.

This is a course that I have done only once in my 30 years of professional career, it was live and I remember it being a very satisfying journey that I am looking forward to redo again, this time in the very different format of an entirely self-created video course. Because of this, I need to inform you that even though the contains of the course will correspond with the index I will leave for you below this text, the order that I follow in the creation of the videos may vary as my inspiration happens to me in the flow of changes. It is my experience that as I explore something with a new approach new things emerge that make me want to take turn that seems to make the share experience deeper and more exciting at the same time.

I will try my best to keep it this way from the beginning to the end, and look forward to share the journey with any of you what is ready to come and meet me on the inside.

* Note 1: Predictably, I will try to keep the duration of each video between 20 to 30 minutes, and this is why I have divided most of the centers in two parts, as I do not want to rush in this and provide you only with intellectual information. Occasionally, because of the number of gates included in the center, it may happen that the duration of the video is a little shorter or longer than average.

*Note 2: At the end of the course there will be an about two hour long live Q & A session with Alokanand Diaz, in which I will try to clarify whatever doubts have arisen in you as a consequence of meeting the information in this way, or simply an open space in which to share your own individual insights.
